Lisa: Fill in the blank from your bio and tell us a few fun facts about you.
Tara: I love tacos (could eat them every day), I love the Star Wars movies and I had a near death experience with a wild elephant in Sri Lanka.
Lisa: Your proudest mommy moment?
Tara: My proudest mom moment is always watching my children interact, play with and share with others. Friendship isn’t political for children like it can be for adults. Children have an incredible ability to see the humanity in us all, and it is a beautiful thing.
Lisa: Can you share your most challenging “mom moment?"
Tara: Learning to breastfeed my firstborn was such a challenge! My son had a tongue-tie that did terrible damage to me and give me intense pain with every latch. If it weren’t for the constant support from my midwives and my family, I would have given up! Thankfully we had the latch fixed and were able to find our groove. But it now gives me understanding for other mothers who similarly struggle with breastfeeding for whatever reason.
Lisa: Your top 3 favorite gadgets for moms to make life easier.
Tara: My Top 3 Gadgets for Moms: The Beluga Baby Wrap…a total life saver for the first year, The Overachiever Balm from K’Pure Naturals for any and all skin issues, and online grocery shopping with delivery or drive-thru pick up!
Lisa: What about an internet resource that you would recommend for other mommies.
Tara: I use TinyBeans app to create secure, private photo albums to share with family and close friends. Because one day, my children might not want certain photos online for the world to see!
Lisa: Last words of advice?
Tara: I see you mama. Motherhood can bring the greatest joy and the most heart-wrenching sorrow. Find yourself a tribe to journey through motherhood with you and love them hard. And don’t forget to do things just for you, to make your soul sing! Show your children all that is possible by living it out in action for them. Be their world changer and then release them to go even further than you did.
